Fall and Holiday Mini Sessions in Knoxville and Kingsport, TN
I'm hosting fall and holiday mini sessions in two places this year: Lakeshore Park in Knoxville on October 25 and November 1, 2026, and a private mini farm off Mill Creek Road in Kingsport on November 7, November 8 and November 27, 2026. Sessions are 20 minutes and start at $175.
This is my favorite time of year to be behind the camera. The light gets soft and golden, the leaves do their thing, and everyone starts thinking about the people they love most. If you've been meaning to get photos on the calendar.. this is your sign.
Below you'll find everything you need: what makes each location special, pricing, what to wear, how to come prepared, and answers to the questions I get asked most.
Why Book a Mini Session This Season?
Mini sessions are a short, sweet way to get beautiful photos without the time or investment of a full session. Here's what they're perfect for:
• Holiday cards. Get your Christmas card photo done early and stress free.
• Gifts. Framed prints and photo books are some of the most treasured gifts grandparents ever get.
• Just to have. Some seasons deserve to be remembered simply because they're yours.
• Updating family photos. If your last family photo still has your toddler as a baby, it's time.
Minis are priced below my regular session rates, so you get a beautiful gallery and some real savings at the same time. The reason is simple: you share the day with other families, and sessions are booked back to back. I still plan enough room in each slot to honor your session and get you exactly what you're hoping for.
And here's a little bonus. Minis are even better for tiny humans with short attention spans and fur babies alike. Twenty focused minutes is often the sweet spot before the wiggles win.
It's not just for families, either. Grab your best friends, your siblings or the group that's been there through it all. Friendships deserve to be celebrated, too.
Knoxville Mini Sessions at Lakeshore Park
• Dates: Sunday, October 25 and Sunday, November 1, 2026 (afternoons)
• Location: Lakeshore Park, 5930 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, TN (exact meeting spot sent after closer to date)
Lakeshore Park is one of Knoxville's most beloved green spaces, right in the heart of the city, and it gives us so much room to roam and play. Open lawns, big old trees, meadow grasses and views toward the mountains give us plenty of natural backdrops, so every gallery feels a little different.
There are no staged sets here. The park itself sets the scene, with soft afternoon light and space for little ones to run, explore and just be themselves. Free parking and park restrooms make it an easy outing with kids, and leashed pets are welcome to join.

Kingsport Mini Sessions on a Private Mini Farm
• Dates: Saturday, November 7, Sunday, November 8 (afternoon) and Friday, November 27, 2026
• Location: Private mini farm off Mill Creek Road, Kingsport, TN (exact address sent after booking)
For my Tri-Cities families, I'm heading to a sweet little private farm with an open field and a rustic barn. I'll have several simple but charming setups ready to celebrate the season, all styled in warm, neutral colors so you and your family are the ones who shine in the photos.
You can move between setups for more variety in your gallery, or pick the spot that fits your style best. It leans a bit country and outdoorsy, with natural light and room for little ones to wander. Parking is on site, and I'll have a mirror area ready for quick hair and outfit checks.
The November 27 date falls the day after Thanksgiving, which makes it a lovely option if family is already in town.

What to Wear for Fall and Holiday Mini Sessions
Wear what makes you feel comfortable and most like yourselves.. then play it up just a little. Think of it as your favorite everyday look on a really good day. A special sweater, a pretty dress, favorite boots or a hat you love can make your photos feel more special than an ordinary Tuesday.
• For fall photos: Warm tones like cream, rust, olive, mustard and denim look beautiful against changing leaves, open lawns, fields and barns.
• For holiday cards: Lean into deeper, festive shades like burgundy, forest green, plaid or a touch of velvet.
• Coordinate, don't match: Pick a palette of two or three colors and let everyone wear a different piece of it.
• Add texture: Knits, flannel, corduroy and lace add warmth and depth, and they work for either look.
• Skip the distractions: Avoid big logos, words on clothing and busy patterns so the focus stays on your people.
• Think about your shoes: At Lakeshore Park we'll walk a bit on grass and paths, so comfortable shoes are a good idea. On the Kingsport farm, boots are always a winner.
• Bring a layer: East Tennessee afternoons can turn chilly fast. A cozy jacket or cardigan keeps everyone happy and looks great in photos.
• Dress the fur babies, too: A festive bandana or collar is a sweet touch for pups.
And if an outfit falls apart on the way there, we'll make it work.
How to Come Prepared and Get the Most From Your Mini
Twenty minutes goes by quickly, and a little planning helps every one of them count. Here's how to walk away with a gallery you love:
1. Arrive about 10 minutes early. It gives you time to park, settle in and do a quick outfit check. Sessions run back to back, so each one ends at its scheduled time out of fairness to the family after you.
2. Tell me your must-have shots. A photo with just the kids? One with Grandma? A Christmas card layout with room for text? Let me know ahead of time and I'll plan for it.
3. Plan around naps and snacks. Book a time that works with your little one's rhythm, and feed everyone beforehand. Happy bellies make happy faces.
4. Bring a few comfort items. A favorite toy, a lovey or a small treat can be a lifesaver. Skip anything messy or brightly colored that might end up on clothes.
5. Make a restroom stop. Lakeshore Park has restrooms. The Kingsport farm does not, so plan a quick stop before you arrive.
6. Bring your pet's favorite treat. Treats and a squeaky toy help pups look my way. Please keep pets leashed.
7. Let go of perfect. The wiggles, the giggles and even the meltdowns are all welcome here. Some of my favorite frames come from the unscripted moments.
8. Just be present. Hold hands, snuggle up, tickle, laugh. I'll guide you through the whole thing, so all you have to do is enjoy each other.
If weather cancels the day, rescheduling is always on me.
Voted Best Photographer and Best New Business in Knoxville
This fall feels extra special, because Hux and Mae Photo was recently voted Best Photographer and Best New Business in the greater Knoxville area in the 2026 Knox Stars Community's Choice Awards.
I'm still a little speechless about it. Being chosen by my own community, especially as such a new business, means more than I can say. There are so many talented photographers and wonderful small businesses in East Tennessee, and I'm truly humbled. These mini sessions are one small way I get to say thank you and keep showing up for you.

Meet Brookney, the Photographer Behind Hux and Mae
Hi, I'm Brookney Chamberlain! I'm a lifestyle photographer based in Maryville, TN, serving families, friends, couples and fur babies across Knoxville, East Tennessee and the Tri-Cities.
For nearly two decades, I've worked as an art director and creative director in advertising, planning and styling photoshoots alongside some incredibly talented photographers. I always loved photography, but I was never the one holding the camera. Then my two kids, Hux and Mae, came along and gave me the courage to finally pick it up myself. They're the namesakes behind everything you see here.
That background shapes how I work. I understand light, detail and how to help people feel at ease in front of the camera. And as a mama of two toddlers who do things their own way every single day, I know how to stay calm and keep things fun when little ones have other plans.
I travel light, lean toward natural tones and a light, airy feel, and hand edit every image to stand the test of time. My hope is that when you look back at your gallery years from now, it still feels like you.
