My advertising career has kept me working out of downtown Knoxville for over 20 years, so this city isn't just somewhere I visit for sessions, it's where I've spent most of my career and know well. By day, I run a marketing and advertising agency in downtown Knoxville, and creative direction has been part of that world for nearly two decades. Along the way I've had the chance to work alongside photographers and videographers of all kinds, on all sorts of production sessions, corporate, food and beverage, agriculture, nonprofit, manufacturing, outdoor recreation, and plenty more. These days my role means less hands on creating and more leading, so Hux & Mae is where I get to bring that passion back to life myself, camera in hand.
That mix of experience, paired with two toddlers of my own, means I show up ready to guide the process calmly, whatever the day brings. Wind blowing wrong, spit up at the worst moment, an adult who feels awkward in front of a camera.. none of it throws me off. We just take it in stride and keep going, because some of the best photos happen in those unscripted moments anyway.

Knoxville gives us a lot to work with depending on the mood you're going for. World's Fair Park and the greenway along the river offer that open, golden hour feel families love. Ijams Nature Center is a favorite for anyone wanting a more woodsy, adventurous backdrop. I personally favor Lakeshore Park for various backdrops and environments. If you're after a more downtown, walkable feel, Market Square and the streets nearby give sessions a lived-in, story-driven quality. We'll pick the spot that fits your family, your style, and honestly, how much walking little legs can handle that day.
