What to Expect When You Book Your First Hux and Mae Session

Booking a photographer for the first time can feel a little uncertain. Here's exactly what happens, start to finish, so there are no surprises.

Reaching Out

When you reach out, I'll respond promptly, usually within 24 hours, in whichever way you're most comfortable connecting, whether that's email, text, or a phone call.

From there, we'll talk through what you're envisioning. We can discuss locations, who you want in the session, and if it's helpful, I'm happy to guide you on wardrobe and location selection too. If you're drawn to something more playful and creative, we can dream that up together, and I'll help bring it to life. Honestly, that part is where my passion really lives.

My goal from the very first message is to make working with me easy. I want the whole process to feel fun and memorable, not stressful.

Booking and Preparing

Once we've worked out the details, we'll pick a date and a location together. From there, it's simply a matter of waiting for the day to arrive; I'll stay in touch if anything needs finalizing beforehand.

Session Day

On the day of your session, we'll meet at the location we chose, and I'll walk you through the whole process. We'll play, we'll walk around, we'll do whatever feels most natural for your group.

If it's helpful, I'll offer soft, natural guidance and gentle prompts to help everyone feel comfortable participating in a way that makes sense for them. I've spent years working with people in front of a camera through my professional career outside of Hux and Mae, and I've learned how to help people relax, read when we've hit a natural limit, and know when there's room to play a little more.

After Your Session

Once we wrap, I'll head home to cull and edit your images, giving each one that natural, timeless look I care about delivering. Within a fair turnaround time, you'll receive a beautiful, complete gallery: high resolution, print ready, and digital ready, so you can use your images however you'd like.

That's really the whole process. Reach out, let's talk it through, pick a date, show up and enjoy it, and then let me handle the rest.
